OUR BELIEF
We are motivated by the belief that:
- Everyone should have the right to breathe smoke-free air
- No one should have to avoid a public place because smoking is allowed
- Workers should never have to choose between their health and a paycheck
Though 78% of the people in Louisiana don't smoke, there is no statewide policy against smoking in our public spaces.
OUR APPROACH
We work with local municipalities, smoke-free advocates, business owners, employees, faith-based leaders, community stakeholders and others to advocate for smoke-free environments. The 2007 Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act extended smoke-free workplace protections to businesses like restaurants, but failed to include bars and gaming establishments.
We will continue to work tirelessly with coalitions and community leaders to close this gap statewide and establish smoke-free protections for EVERYONE in Louisiana.

OUR CHALLENGE
Lobbyists influence legislatures to keep smoking legal in bars and casinos, even though secondhand smoke leads to numerous health issues, even death, and costs Louisiana $1.89 billion per year in healthcare costs.

Partnerships
Healthier Air for All relies on partnerships to educate on and advocate for smoke-free air.
In addition to local neighborhood, community, and state partners, Healthier Air for All works with national organizations, such as the American Heart Association and Americans for Nonsmoker’s Rights. State and local partners include Well-Ahead, Louisiana Healthy Communities Coalition, the Louisiana Municipality Association, and churches, schools, and clinics throughout the state. We are also a member of the Tobacco-free Louisiana Coalition.

A Louisiana Cancer Research Center Program
Healthier Air for All is part of The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL), a Louisiana Cancer Research Center program.
In addition to Healthier Air for All, TFL partner programs include, Quit With Us, La., and Next Era which supports smoke-free communities by providing resources for those who want to quit using tobacco products and providing tobacco education and prevention tips for Louisiana’s youth.
